A charity helping York residents who find themselves in need
The Charity of Jane Wright helps people who are resident in the City of York and who find themselves in need. We make grants to individuals and fund projects run by other organisations and charities. We also have a small complex of eleven Almshouses situated in Ogleforth in the heart of the City of York.
The Charity was established in 1675 with money Jane Wright left in her will. Since then we have helped many children and adults in York for over 340 years.
