Almshouses

The Charity has a small complex of 11 Almshouses situated in Ogleforth in the heart of the City of York.

The self-contained one and two bedroomed flats are centred around a communal courtyard and provide accommodation to residents who are resident within the City of York and able to demonstrate a need, which most often will be one of hardship.

Eligibility

• Applicants must currently be resident within the City of York
• Applicants must be able to demonstrate a need (this is usually financial)
• Applicants will be required to fill out a detailed application form disclosing their social and financial circumstances

All vacancies are advertised in the local Press and at various community hubs. The Charity does not have a waiting list but does retain a list of people who are interested in the accommodation who can then be notified when vacancies arise.
